Anyone care to discuss?

- Yorick and his damn dreams. Man, I wondered what the hell 355 was up to in her intervention outfit. I'm so glad it was just a dream. It was bad enough when 711 did it...

- The Infancy Brigade, aka Hero, Natalya, Beth|Beth, and Ciba|Vlad. Of course, I always get really excited when they're in it. Another issue of reprieve for Heroic! She ain't dead yet!

- Kind of a warm fuzzy issue... until the end. What the hell was Beth 1 thinking, flashing Yorick's picture all over the place? Do you think his dream portends that meeting up with her again really will be the death of him? Do you really think there is something wrong with her, like she's said before in Yorick's dreams? I did admire him for questioning whether the two of them would still have anything in common after all this time, and 355's remark about his choice of words was pretty priceless.

- OK. Let's take bets: who's going to kill off Alter? I vote for Hero.

I have these moments of watching Yorick go oh, fuck when he finds out he has a daughter. Of all the things that have preoccupied his mind the last five years, I seriously doubt he's ever entertained that as a possibility. That's going to be a beautiful thing to see, no matter how it ends up. Just because Yorick is so... Yorick; he's such a perfectly sweet and bitter geek. I hope Vaughan doesn't make Beth 2 a disposable commodity, but I can see him doing just that. Imagine a world where 355 is left to protect not only her charge, Yorick, but his offspring as well. What a cozy little family that will be.

So, do you think there will be a big reunion between not only Yorick and Beth1 and Beth2 and Hero and Ciba and Natalya and 355, but also with Rose and Allison? Think they'll all get together before the Big Bang that's inevitably going to end things? My mind boggles when I think of how many details there are to wrap up in 5 more issues, even if the last one is double-sized. Then again, it could be as simple as Yorick and Beth1 reuniting, end of story. Somehow, though, that doesn't feel like a very Vaughanesque ending to me. He did say the trouble was really beginning, although that's paraphrasing because I'm too lazy to go to his forum and look it up exactly.

Someone's got to survive, I'd think, but I could be wrong. I think the little clones will survive, both the Allison ones and the Yorick ones. Imagine a world of them as Adams and Eves: horribly nearsighted women and men with thinning hair. Yuk yuk.

But man, now that Natalya's gone and called Hero "Heroic," she's definitely doomed. I hold my breath on her every issue, and on 355. I worry less now for Allison and Rose because they're a little out of the line of fire, but Allison was on Alter's hit list before she even met up with Yorick, so no one's safe.

Beth1 is still the biggest unknown quantity to me, and what is it with these guys and their women on pedestals? The torches they carry have to be burning pretty close to the skin by now, don't they? Like I said, I was so glad to see him finally start to question this undying passionate quest he's been on. I'd say it's like he's waking up a little, but I don't want to mix canons which is only too easy to do, because everything in life comes back to Bebop eventually.

But now if you'll excuse me, the carpool for Spike will arrive in about an hour, and my hygiene points need upping before that happens. And then I will have an instant meal, change into work clothes in a spinning blur, and be on my way.

This makes me wish you'd watched Farscape, because I bet Yorick'd do pretty much what Crichton does - which is instant transformation into UberDaddy. There's pretty much nothing more important to Crichton than family responsibilities, and it wouldn't surprise me if it hits Yorick just as hard.
