I was so busy, I almost forgot to be me.
Sep. 16th, 2004 11:00 pmIf I haven't got back to you on anything today, forgive me. I was at school with Hannah all day - field trip! - and errands on the way home, and real life. And it's boring! So I won't bore everybody with the details.
However, I will take a moment to tell you about my four raccoons: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs.
We have a small deck off our kitchen and on it is a table with four chairs. One of the chairs butts up against the side of the house, just under a window. There's a bird feeder on the window, attached with suction cups and filled with sunflower seed chips for the chickadees and finches.
Last night at around 11:30 I looked over to the window because there was a lot of noise. One of the baby (well, really, juvenile) raccoons was standing on the back of the chair, hands splayed on the window, reaching up and stealing sunflower seeds. I thought... oh, Prongs, you're going to fall off there! And sure enough... wham!
Within about 30 seconds he was back for more. It was so amusing... my own little raccoon sitcom.
Hey, Hex! Keep your hands off my sunflower seeds!
P.S. The one I call Padfoot curls up on the deck at the top of the stairs just like a puppy protecting the house. It's unbelievably sweet.
