in_the_blue: (too hip gotta go)
...we all three went to see Brian Setzer play at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. I don't even want to tell you how long it's been since I last saw him play, but it's been a long time. When I saw he was touring & doing rockabilly again, I knew I had to go. I love the BSO a lot, but I love this even more.

He played with 3 guys from the Orchestra - a stand-up bass, drums, and keyboardist/guitarist. They were SO good. They were opening for George Thorogood & the Destroyers. When they started, the seats were maybe half full, and that's being generous. The sun was still out, people were filing in, and I was in my seat being the happiest little clam of a fangirl anyone can imagine.

For an opening act, they got to play a nice long set, and they got a 2-song encore. His guitar playing is insanely good.

We didn't even stay for George Thorogood, because I figured he couldn't top what we'd just seen.
