So this piece of my brain has decided that all it wants to do is write and write and write. I like that, I like it a lot. It makes me happy.
I was thinking about a guy I used to know, a writer. We'd read and critique each others' work back in the days before good email made it possible to do this thing electronically; we'd ship each other actual printouts of our work to read. He told me that he routinely killed off characters when they took on too much of a life of their own. I was absolutely horrified: does it have to be such a struggle for alpha-male status wtih our creations? I don't think I could do that, unless the character demanded to be killed.
I've only ever written one ghost. He was fun to write, but he was already dead when I thought of him. I didn't kill him to quiet his voice.
Well. That's all I have to talk about for the moment, other than to say that the new Lego Knight Bus is a scream; I love it very much. I'm glad Hannah's birthday is coming up so I can getus her more of the new POA Legos. She looked at the Shrieking Shack one with the werewolf-lego-person on the front, frowned, turned to me, and said, 'Mom, that is just wrong.'
Honey, I couldn't agree with you more.
