I owe an update.

1. August, you can go away. You haven't been very good to me or to most of the people in my family. The worst thing you did was take my brother-in-law away from us all. That's not going to be an anniversary I want to remember, okay?

2. Everyone at Dragon*Con, I hope you're having fun!

3. If you're not following the ineedmyfics comm, stories are due next Saturday at 9pm EDT. It's been so quiet! Sometime after that deadline has passed, all prompts will be made available for those who want to write them, which I will highly encourage.

4. I now have a mother-in-law living five minutes away. It's pretty great. As I told her, any closer and she'd be in our guest bedroom, which no one really wants. But it's nice having her so close by.

5. I haven't been able to write for shit. But as Jenna so kindly reminded me, writer's block is a reaction to stress and this has been a really stressful summer.

6. I don't think I've slept through the night since about May. Yes, I'm pretty frazzled!

7. Because 7 is a good number, I think I'll end here and call it a day.

I'm doing all right. It's been overly warm out for my liking, but I got a little bike riding in yesterday, and then I immediately changed my mind and went home. Generally I tough things out but it's Shark Week at the moment, and that doesn't usually combine well with late summer temperatures for me.

But I have the day off and I have a cat next to me being orange and fuzzy and concerned, so that helps.
