Well, I'm all excited because I just got a copy of Twenty-Six Lies/One Truth by Ben Peek. It's published by the fabulous Wheatland Press and I already know I'm going to love this book. I know it because I literally just got home and started reading it before I turned on the computer, and those of you who know me know that's something.

In other news: I did some power shopping (aka "fast and furious") for new jeans: went to the store, told the saleswoman what I wanted, she asked me what size, I told her, she grabbed me four pairs of jeans, I tried them on, two of them fit, I bought those two pairs. Fifteen minutes. Since I haven't bought any new clothes for myself in at least a year and a half, I think I was overdue.

Then I bought a pair of shoes. It's hard to find shoes comfortable enough for massage work that don't look like shit, but I think I managed. They're really comfortable.

Then I came home, and Mitch and I went out for sushi, strolled around (it was beautiful - upper 50s, sunny) and had some coffee. Then we came home and... wonder of wonders... I didn't have to rush out at 2:40 to pick up Hannah, because she had a playdate with [livejournal.com profile] mme_publisher's son after school. So that was nice. We went over and got her together later, and talked about Valentine's Day. I said, "you don't have to get me a Valentine's Day gift. Instead, just go with me to Hannah's conference the day after." I think it's a date.

I woke up in a good mood today, even though I woke up about 45 minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off. I was so tired last night that I think my subconscious woke me up to check the alarm clock and make sure it was set, because once I did that all I knew was that the alarm was going off and it was time to wake up.

And since this is already pretty random: I love my kitties. All seven of them. Hector sleeps on a pillow just above my head every night, and last night when I got into bed, he rolled around so his head was resting against mine and stayed like that most of the night. It was pretty damn sweet.

(I still want my Bebop viewing date.)

I don't want to work tomorrow. But I will. In fact, laundry calls, so I'm off to do that. Ciao ciao, fellow Nacho Internet Mommies.

Ooh, comfy shoes! What kind are they? I'm always on the lookout for comfy library shoes.

Er... they're made by Söfft. Don't be fooled by the name: the company's in New Hampshire. Mine are the Payton model (http://www.shoeline.com/asp/dcpItem.asp?style=S1012710). I got them at DSW shoes for way less than this site, but you can at least see what they look like.

Oh, those are very cool looking! I like the flowers on the soles, too. :)

[looks at comfy slip-ons wistfully] The puppies chupacabras ate my shoes.
