Band-Aid Girl.

Hector attacked my wrist and hand today. They feel like Spike's face after Session 5.

Call me Ouch.

Mitch and I are sitting here in our new room, telecommunicating. Hannah just sent me an email. We're a wired family. Our remodeler put pictures up of our house; if you want to see before and after pictures, have at it. See, I knew there was a reason for this post, small though the reason is.

Hector sounds like he is quite the attitude packin' cat. Do he and Captain Jack get along or do they battle for Number One Boy Kitty spot?

Jack, being the first boycat in our house, believes it's his right to be the dominant one. Unfortunately he's kind of a wuss but still, he lords it over Hectorcito. Hector was feral and he still has a lot of that in him (and today my hand looks like the walking wounded, it's nasty).

The place this is most notable is on our screen porch. There's only one way in and one way out, and when they're both out there, Jack likes to stand guard at the entrance to the house and chase Hector away when he tries to come back.

But now, they're both sitting out there happily. Mitch put up ledges by all the windows so the cats could have good perches in the nice weather, but Jack and Hector go out there all year round. It's kind of a sweet yet alienated friendship those two have.

I do so covet your book shelves. I've been pricing them the last month or so and what I want for the space I want is just obnoxious. I'm seriously considering building them myself.

The door to the screen porch was in the kitchen? Moved to the great room with all the windows now? Sweet set-up. Well worth the wait by the looks of it. WE hope to put a wrap porch off the back side of the house where the new addition is located to the side door of the house . Basically that will allow us to set outside the master bedroom-where we put french doors-on star filled nights and just relax. *sigh* One of these days...should have seen me wandering the patio section of K-Mart yesterday and dreaming. Martha is my Goddess.

Actually, the door to the screen porch is where it always was, it's just that the room is now the kitchen instead of the great room. And yes, book shelves are scary expensive. We went back and forth on doing them for our library or not, but we figured we'd never get anything as nice as the ones we had built, so... get them while we're going broke anyhow. Why the hell not.

And if Martha is your Goddess, here's a monitoring anklet for you. Now you can be just like her. :p She used to live around the corner from my parents, but they moved and she's sold. The concept of holidays with Martha used to be so much closer.

I'm surprised she didn't start a fashion trend with the anklet!!! Ah well, my ankles are too fat any way. ;P
