Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

A day off from online, anyhow. Must needs EMPTY THE PLAYROOM FOR CONSTRUCTION BEGINNING TOMORROW, just me and the 10-year-old, with cats underfoot, and figure out where the fuck to put everything in the meantime. This was meant to be a joint task, not a solo one, and boy am I pissed off over it.

Also, I'm taking my lovely daughter to the grocery store with me because I must, and we have to take down the blanket fort she made in the living room because the living room is about to house all the furniture from two rooms at once for the next 4 months or so.

I want to hear NO COMPLAINING from that husband person (who just text-messaged me from Chicago!) when he gets in later this evening. I'm doing the best I can.

Mommy Interlude.

Last night Hannah and I had a mother-daughter moment of extreme degree. She was nostalgic, I was nostalgic, we talked about her adoption and childhood memories, we shared a hug and a good amount of tears, then we read together. Oh, by the way. Diana Wynne Jones, Howl's Moving Castle - it's so much fun. It's so perfect and precise and enjoyably benign and yet so intriguing and fun. Very different from the movie, which was also really lovely.

[/interlude]

Alas, alas, the writing challenge is over for the month. Now you have 3 weeks where you don't have to listen to me remind you about it. We'll see what happens in Octubre, amigos.

*Hugs* I must buy a copy of Howl's Moving Castle now.

I read everything before Liam will. We've got quite a library already!

Oh, and by the way, you rock.

Being busy is good. And the mommy interlude sounds blissful.

It's going this well (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/8119745.html). Heh. Of all people, I think you'll appreciate that.

Actually, I'm making some progress. It's not all that bad if I do it in fits and starts.

Storm asked me to post this,

"Cats are *never* underfoot, Dah-ling, though I admit sometimes you Big Things choose to engage in actions too swift for your limited agility whereupon we are called forth to slow you down. That is all...you may worship me now."

Huh. Well. I didn't even know he read LJ.
