Because he is most lusciously evil,
dopplegl (a.k.a "he who likes to see his name mentioned") tagged me for the Five Favorite Fictional Characters meme. And I'm thinking... I can do this. With graphics, no less.
Note that this is not my five fictional crushes meme, or the five fictional characters I'd do in a heartbeat meme. And these aren't in order, they're just five.

Sirius Black from the Harry Potter books, if you please. Not the green-toothed bad-hair-day insane short one from the movies. Why Sirius? He's so complex and so multifaceted and so flawed and so human. There is nothing surface or simplistic about him... and I understand his motivations. No surprises there: I've rarely resonated so immediately with any fictional character on an "oh no, this sounds too much like me" level.

Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop, because he's about the coolest thing ever to have hit theplanet solar system. Who cares if he's animated? (That could make for a very good double-entendre, come to think on it.) If Sirius is my passionate side, Spike is my emotional nature and outlook (and no, that's not a conflict, but it is why I roleplay the both of them).

Willy Silver, from Emma Bull's War for the Oaks. - perhaps the most misunderstood male of the elven persuasion ever written. Oh, sorry, did I spoil the book for you? Read it anyway; Willy's a fabulous character and the whole book is more fun than it deserves to be. (Yes,
sff_corgi, I love Phouka too, but I love Willy more.)

Charlotte from the film Lost in Translation. I love the subtle nuances of her personality and the tension that builds between her character and Bill Murray's throughout the course of the film. Never have I wished so hard for a couple to get together, all the while knowing exactly how futile that wish was. Plus, Scarlett Johansen. Need I say more?

Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. He's not my favorite Johnny Depp character, but that would be a different meme. Why Captain Jack? Because he's Sirius and Spike and Willy all rolled into one, with a smattering of old-fashioned dash thrown in, and the end result is someone completely unique.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I might change my mind tomorrow, but for today... there you have it.
And I'm supposed to tag five of you. Let's see:
sff_corgi,
lostinapapercup,
shellebelle93,
kelleypen, and
hfleming8. There. We all win.
