I got tagged by
enelya_oronar to do the 20 random facts meme. Here goes nothing.
1. My given middle name is Arlie.
2. I'm 5'6 and weigh about 113 lbs.
3. I think I've done my best partnership writing with
lostinapapercup.
4. I have a cat named Tribble, after the ST:TOS episode Trouble with Tribbles.
5. Some days I think I'm just a giant geek. Other days I know I am.
6. It took me 3 years to know Spike well enough to roleplay him.
7. I used to write a superhero comic book. I worked with a great pair of professional comic book illustrators.
8. I used to share an apartment outside Cambridge, MA with a ghost.
9. The thing I miss most about living in Boston is Fenway Park.
10. I like building with Legos.
11. My very first piece of Harry Potter fanfic was a Lucius Malfoy story.
12. When I was in China, I spent an afternoon sitting at a shrine to Mao Tse Tung talking about Hillary Clinton with our Beijing (aka "party") translator.
13. I think all of life is a grand adventure.
14. Some days my eyes are hazel. Most days, they're brown.
15. I'm trained to do distance healing.
16. If I had to study for a new career, it would be in computer animation.
17. I don't care if he's dead: I still have a crush on Bruce Lee.
18. I did a portrait of Jason Carter once. In beads. Delica beads. It taught me how hard it is to find and blend human colors in that medium.
19. But I had to stop beadwork when I started doing massage, because the repetitive motion was destroying the intrinsic muscles of my hands.
20. I should be asleep right now, but I'm rarely in bed before 1AM, even with that 6:45 wakeup time. Nighttime is my time.
And... not tagging anyone. I think this one's made the rounds. If you want to do it, feel free. I'm off to get ready for bed.

Date: 2005-09-15 04:43 am (UTC)I love Reiki, because it's so gentle and so nurturing. I believe it helps if the recipient believes it will help, as opposed to resisting it. What you do for a distance healing session is set up a time for it so that the giver can focus and the recipient can be relaxed and receive.
I practice Usui Reiki ("usui" translates to "water" or "rain water"). It's very, very relaxing. If you ever want to try it, let me know.
