You are a GRAMMAR GOD!
Congratulations! If your mission in life
is not already to preserve the English tongue,
it should be. You can smell a grammatical
inaccuracy from fifty yards. Your speech is
revered by the underlings, though some may
blaspheme and call you a snob. They're just
jealous. Go out there and change the world.
How grammatically correct are you? (Revised with answer key)

This time of year always seems like such a blur. I find myself counting down how many days Hannah has left to school. Now we have a new thing to put into the equation: how many days Mitch will be traveling. He got back from England last night, leaves for Chicago on Sunday, comes back Thursday or Friday. And said that was all the travel he had booked! Except for yet another trip to Chicago at the end of the month. I shake my head, smile a bit sadly, and don't even bother believing that's going to be the end of the travel.
Neither here nor there, because I'm writing good and fun sci-fi. Hannah's so excited she keeps asking to read what's next. That, to me, is a very good sign. If my kid likes it, then other kids will like it. And then I can shop it, and yeah. When I consider the last thing I published (besides technical writing) was a comic book... guess it's not so very different. Just a lot more words and a lot less script. I had good artists to work with back then. Collaborative efforts are fun.
This is also the time of year here when I wonder if summer will ever arrive. It's June, it's cold. At least today the sun is peeking through. But I still see thunder clouds out there. It's Portland, it's June, it's Rose Festival. Got your umbrella?
