Fun with Movies

Today, lostinapapercup and I had a movie date, even though we're about 3,000 miles apart. At the same time, we watched our mutual DVDs of To Have and Have Not, and it was really fun.

I am far too amused for my own good: I still can't believe Lauren Bacall was only 19 when she made that movie. Long live Slim.

We're also writing a scifi adventure on milliways_bar; it's also really fun. I can't believe I've been RPing there for almost 9 months and still having a blast. Now, if Dogstar would just come back (begs the ezboard powers that be piteously)...

Idle Countdown Time:

• 1 more day till Mitch gets back from Manchester.


• 6 days since Dogstar went belly-up.


• 6 and a half more days of school for Hannah.


• 7 days till mme_publisher and I take our children to see Madagascar.


• 40 days till Half-Blood Prince.


• 95 days till the remastered version of Cowboy Bebop hits the shelves.


• 149 days till my birthday.

I don't know if you want to do that, but according to ez-board I'm pretty sure if you make a whole new "forum", instead of just a new topic, it'll be fine, which you can do while your waiting. Though I assume your LJ is much easier.

The problem with that is continuity. We're a roleplay board, and there's no way to seamlessly integrate one thread with another on ezboard. You can integrate whole threads into any forum, but we're organized in a careful and pretty intentional way. I understand their offer, but I'd just as soon keep things to the LJ for the time being. If it turns out we've lost everything, then I will do the requisite amount of sobbing and cursing and get back to business. But they're only about halfway done restoring boards, so I'll be patient.

I did find a snapsot from a year ago at archive.org's Wayback Machine and will be spending time downloading the html from there, just so I can have at least one year of my classes.

Other than that, I'm just... waiting. We were kind of mid-plot anyhow, so I'd rather wait patiently than wait anxiously, if you know what I mean.
