Wow, that was a long and tedious trip. Was it just the head winds? It took forever. Our pilot had to abort the first landing attempt in Portland due to bad weather. I knew as we came screaming in over the Columbia River that we were going too fast and would either be crashing or taking a sharp turn upward again; it was snowing furiously outside. We took the sharp turn upward and banked around to try another runway. Thankfully the second one worked and Hannah slept through it... and it wasn't snowing on the ground. And we got the suitcases straight away and made it to the car and it started (thank heavens! it's got 106k miles on it and it was sitting for 10 days) and we made it home without wiper fluid but also without incident, which was a very good thing.

Sometime after 1AM.

And I had stuff to do, and I had to get up at 7 and take Hannah to school and go to work, because Mitch had to go to Chicago instead of coming back with us. I'm tired.

Then again, why complain? I did get 4 and a half hours' sleep. So if I seem disjointed and random, you know why.

Thank GAWD for Starbuck's. I couldn't have massaged today without it. The winter drink of choice: grande toffee nut latte.

P.S. Hey, Delta Air Lines: what's the friggin' deal? Only ONE beverage service on a 4-and-a-half-hour flight? Bite me.
