Time for a nice change of pace.
Jul. 14th, 2004 06:26 pmTomorrow evening, my parents arrive. The last time they visited here, Hannah was probably 4 or 5. It will be very nice to have them here, since they're among the coolest of people and yes, I feel lucky to have them for parents! When I remember some of the knockdown dragout fights some of my friends had with their parents during their formative years, I'm very pleased to report that we never had that type of trauma. Sure, there were things that were not perfect, but by and large, I'm very happy with my misspent youth and the people who brought it to me.
I have nothing much planned at my Mom's insistence; she did say to just take it easy and let them relax. I can do that. The most we might do is have lunch with my mother-in-law at some point.
But tonight is for doing laundry and pondering my original fic, which has been gnawing at me all day.
Last night I made some changes to my role-play board; I think they're for the better and should make the various threads a lot easier to find. Had I known what would be involved a year ago when a bunch of people asked me to make my own board... it's not that I mind being a leader. I can be in charge and make decisions easily enough, and I'm really good at keeping things moving along. It's just that it's a huge time-sink a lot of days, not to mention a huge emotional investment. Would you like fries with your method acting, anyone?
