Important Announcement
Jan. 9th, 2004 12:53 pm(clears throat)
I am pleased as all get-go to announce that we are now officially thawing out. Which is a Very Good Thing, because I have three clients to see today and a dinner date tonight to go somewhere and let someone else cook me delicious vegetarian Carib food choices.
I feel like I've been stuck inside for a week. Practically have. I can't remember ever being lucky enough as a student to pull four snow days in a row; Hannah is one lucky little third-grader.
Further news: we've decided to say hang it all to dialup and go with wireless high-speed via satellite and a home network so everyone here can be online as much as they want without stepping on one anothers' toes. This of course means that I need a new PC that supports the technology, but that was a foregone thing anyway. There is no reason for me to have to boot this ancient yet wonderful piece of equipment more than once to get it to come up cleanly, yet I do it on a regular basis. I hope I get my new one (oh, decisions, decisions - laptop or desktop- opinions, anyone?) before this one dies a lingering death, taking all my data with it.
(Waves hello to the new people on her friends list, thanks to everyone who made a recommendation for me!)
When
sff_corgi first strongarmed me into my own LiveJournal, I told her no. No way, I'm not spending any time on this thing, I already have enough to do.
I lied. I'm actually downright sociable, even though I work in a solitary profession. My circle of friends has expanded to include people from all over the world. I like it that way.
And, just because he's one of my favourite poets in the known universe, here's one of my all-time most loved poems by Pablo Neruda, from The Captain's Verses.
