I wished last night for a snow day today, and we got it. It was supposed to warm up this afternoon to the upper 30s, but it's still stuck in the 20s, and it's been precipitating freezing rain all day. We even lost our phones for a bit. The birds are skating across the yard, not even heavy enough to leave footprints. I will brave it at some point to put out more chow for the little feathered ones.
And as Catherine so kindly pointed out, yesterday was the Sugar Quill's birthday. Now, I haven't been there for all that long, but... here's my story. ( Just waxing a little poetic, I promise. )
In other news, it's my sweetheart's birthday! And we're all snowed in together! What a way to spend a day. Working, of course. If he's going to be working more from home--highly likely--we'll have to figure out how it's going to work. It's my home office, too, and I rely heavily on it, and we'll figure something out. How many phone lines can one house hold? How about high-speed internet access via satellite? Household intranet? Hmm, I wonder...
This will be high-speed internet year. Make it so!
I might just go... bake a cake. Or something.
