Vacation was more fun than reality. Now everyone wants to hear about the road trip. All I can say is this: it was just like Thelma and Louise but we had a completely different car, didn't kill anyone, didn't steal anything or have all our money stolen from us, didn't pick up a disarmingly young Brad Pitt on the way, and didn't drive into the Grand Canyon.

I loved it, even when the cat peed in the hotel room and the tire was flat and the power went out, and there was no internet access and no responsibilities, and we could just get up when we felt like it and drive when and where we wanted, and who doesn't want a week like that with someone as fun as my traveling companion from time to time. We all deserve it.
