Happy birthday today, [livejournal.com profile] carlythemeek!!!

and in an unusual bout of synchronous whatever:

Happy birthday Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] zahdi!!!

In other news...

In an attempt to make life imitate art, Theresa and I are still working on the right formula to actually have green show up in my hair. We tried. It didn't work. We tried again. It didn't work again. She put in highlights and finished them with green jazzing. What color are the highlights?

Orange.

Spike does not approve.

I just overheard the best quote ever: Hannah's watching Dave the Barbarian and one of the characters said this: "In the end it wasn't strength that won; it was careful attention to laundry instructions."

I die. Apparently the plot had to do with evil lederhosen.

I die again.

Needs bleach first, and that will kill my hair.

I don't want bright green. I just want it to show up as an undertone... you know, if there was ever sunlight around here. I consider my hair a never-ending work in progress; it will get there eventually.

Pink?

I'm so very sorry. We were joking about that just yesterday; I told Theresa that next time I was going to ask for hot pink and the time after that I'd have it cropped to about an inch long all over and dye it platinum. 'Cause, you know, apparently Annie Lennox is my celebrity twin.

[ponders and remembers] I actually had pink once. It was inadvertent, a new mix of red that Theresa was trying for the first time. Really rather pinkish/magenta. It didn't last long, though: she took one look, said no, and put brown over the whole affair.

At least I don't have to pay for the experimentation.

I always had a light auburn/red color growing up. Hit my 20's and got the worst of both worlds from my Grans. Maternal's went dark(coal) rather then grey, and fraternal went total white by her mid 30s. I.E., mine went dark and grey. I am well over 75% grey now and am not even in my 40s yet. Have been dyeing since my mid 20s.

This round I had a lot of grey to cover up and the light auburn dye I used made everything that was grey a washed out pink.
