Paddled on the Tualatin River today. For those of you in the know, we put in at milepost ten, at Cook Park, after finding that the Schaumberg Bridge putin is now owned by a hunting club and there's no longer access. It was awesome, so very nice, so little current. Hannah and I took turns paddling up front, which was nice. Lots of ducks, lots of kingfishers, and even a very sweet little night heron clambering up a tree stump. It was a beautiful sunny day, so nice for being on the river. And not a power-motor in sight.
Sigh. Then we took the canoe to the car-wash and got rid of the river sludge. Heh.
In other news, less than a week till
sff_corgi gets here and we go to visit
sunny_daylee. I'm looking forward to a vacation. I can't remember the last one I had, sad to say. It might have been last Thanksgiving. That's too long.
This Thanksgiving, we'll be going to the east coast as usual, but my family there has moved! New place to stay... Hannah will have more time with her cousins... should be fun, I hope. It's family; what can I say. Weekend in Brooklyn, I hope! You listening,
hex316?
