I Should Be Asleep, But I'm Not.

Reason 1: I have too many character journals (apologies to Charlie!).
fourish, will you be around on Sunday during the day? I need to chat to you.
Reason 2: My back and neck muscles are so sore I can't lie down yet. I don't know why but I could probably let my fingers parse the muscles and figure it out. I took a bunch of Advil after the movie and it's finally starting to kick in. I was too hurting and tired to have any business going to a movie tonight, but we did. Hannah seemed to love it. It was sweet.
Reason 3: I was, like, writing, remember that? I got inspired at OryCon. I went to a few workshops and round-table discussions and things, figured instead of just doing the social hobnob thing I might as well take advantage of the money I paid and learn some things. I'm not just saying this to be nice and gratuitous, but the best panel was the one hosted by
deborahlive and
jaylake on getting your short SF works into anthologies. It was very useful! I didn't even have to be a very hard-working minion (Hi Deborah!) but I wouldn't have been out of place if I had worn my Japanese Schoolgirl OutfitTM. There were enough Klingons and Bar Maids and Mil-fic people there; I could have worn any costume.
Even my Sirius costume from last year. Or as Barbara from the Sugar Quill suggested, my Narcissa costume. But nah. I love dress-up but on my own terms. I did pet a Klingon's fuzzy arm on his outfit, though. I think whoever was underneath the (admittedly fabulous) face makeup was a little unnerved and didn't know what to do about that. I met lots of local writers and people in and around the writing thing here and gosh, golly: I found out (again) I'm just not shy.
When did that change? I was the shyest kid in the world growing up.
I'd like to go ahead and make this a rambling-free zone, so I'll stop now. Goodnight, all.
