Greetings from Seattle, Wish You Were Here

From my room I can see Safeco Field (where my beloved Red Sox are currently beating the Seattle Mariners), Elliott Bay & the Puget Sound, a giant ferris wheel, the Seattle Aquarium, Pike Place Market (it's right there, I can practically touch it). Whichever island it is across the way -- Bainbridge, maybe? The ferry going back and forth. Also, welcome to Seattle, it just started raining.

I'm here for the baseball game tomorrow night, for anyone who, you know, is interested, I'll be scarce in an online way all weekend.

My husband: "I think that ferry runs until about midnight."
Me: "I know. I watched all of The Killing."

I don't know why that strikes me as so funny, but there you have it.

Yesterday, I read The Hunger Games. That's the first book I've just sat down and read in pretty much one sitting in a long time. I'd seen the movie, now I know just how faithful it really was to most of the book. Then I neglected to bring any of the other books I'm reading on this trip. Oops.

Bainbridge island is that first island, my aunt and uncle live there, its lovely.

I keep meaning to watch The Hunger Games, I enjoyed the first book and never read the others as it didn't catch me.

If the weather is horribly hot tomorrow, I'm planning on going to a movie and then another, seeing Brave on Sunday with Rick.

I've done a good bit of moving planning so I feel like having a lazy weekend.

Yes, this is the perfect weather for movies as here its decided to be in the 80s and 90s and AC is wonderful at movie theaters.

I am buying the Hunger Games series for my mum's birthday this month. I hope she'll like them as much as I did. They are excellent reads!

Did you enjoy the book? I haven't read it or seen the movie.

I did enjoy the book. And the movie, which I saw when it was first out. The book is... well, I kind of qualify it as brain candy. It's a fast read, nothing too deep, but it was engaging enough to make me read it in under a day. Now of course I'm staring at the other two books in the trilogy wondering where I'll find the time. But tomorrow's a holiday, so maybe then.
