in_the_blueOK, so I kind of suck at the updating thing lately.
Instead of telling you all the blah blah blah stuff, I went and took some artsy fartsy pictures for your viewing pleasure.
1. We have this poker plant, and I figured it wasn't going to bloom this year. These prehistoric monstrosities are amazing, but all around me, driving up and down the road, there were poker plants in full bloom. Mine? Not a hint, not a peep, not a word. Then four days ago, we finally got our BINGO in the plant department. Here's an up-close of the flower:
2. For reference, here's the entire plant, because I just knew you were going to ask (by the way, the round puffy purple flowers are INTRUDERS that do NOT BELONG there but seem to have formed a symbiotic relationship with Mama Poker Plant):
3. Also in my yard, my favorite sunset maple. This one's for Juli:
4. And finally, despite my best efforts, I appear to be unable to kill this phalaenopsis orchid (this one lives inside, thank you):
