I invented two new verbs this week. The first is soulmate, and the second is Alistair.

Let me explain.

To soulmate is to claim someone as your one and only, forever and ever. It's the non-Na'vi version of I see you: we'll use it as I soulmate you. Or you could say stuff like "oh yeah, he soulmated her real good and now they're in Vegas tying the knot at the Church of Elvis." Or "once they were soulmated, there was no further need for soulbonding. She loved Sephiroth with every fiber of her being... and his." This being the internet age and all, it can be abbreviated as *soulmates* for convenience in chat rooms.

Now on to Alistair.

(You can also see him in this post's icon, looking mortified as usual.)

Pay particular attention to the hair; it's relevant. For someone from ancient dark fantasy times where dragons run amuck and swooping is an unhappy occurrence, he sure has that modern bro-cut, doesn't he? with the front sticking straight up? That is the absolute visual description of to Alistair. It can be used in the following way: "I need to go Alistair my hair," or "wow, that hair stylist really Alistaired you. Are you going to wash that gel out?"

These are my helpful additions to the English language for the day. As you were.

(P.S. Anyone know what happened to [livejournal.com profile] birdseyeview?)

I heartily approve of your additions to the English language.

Elissa, however, appears to be remaining skeptical. But she's a skeptical sort of girl. Either that, or she's just looking skeptical in the only icon I have of her.

That Elissa's a sassy thang. She can soulmate, but she sure can't Alistair her hair.

She could even soulmate Alistair.

She just sasses the elf.

When I played the human noble origin, I made Elissa sass everyone. She totally taunted Teyrn Loghain, was a giant butt to Anora (because Elissa wanted to marry Alistair and become queen), she was rude to everyone who wasn't human, and she was a big Chantry fan. Oh yeah, and she let Vaughn go. She made a lot of errors with the humans and humanoids. I figured that was the best way to keep her true to her upbringing. She did have a lot of fun killing Howe, though. Especially after he called her a little spitfire or whatever the dialog is there.

Hah! You and I have so got the same logic going there. That's pretty much why I make her sass people, too.

I'm looking forward to getting to the stuff with Howe with her. Her origin will make that very interesting!

(By the way, have I thanked you for getting me into this game? Because I really should have ♥!)

Oops. SPOILER ALERT. I thought you were finished with the game. Or did you not play as her the first time through?

Anyway, you should thank Paige. It's her fault if you trace it back far enough!

No, no, I am finished, so no spoilers or surprises there!

I played as a city elf the first time 'round.

You know, I guess it's an origin thing. My Elissa was sassy and spoiled and cynical and more likely to steal your wallet and consider herself entitled to it than hug you, but she was still a do-gooder half the time (like, say, with the mages and Dalish, but the latter is mostly just because of, as we discussed, by inability to bring myself to be simultaneously cruel and stupid enough to have the werewolves kill them).

My Dalish was pretty snooty with people, particularly humans, but my Dwarven noble is probably going to be the one that I end up playing as totally cutthroat. She has the background and origin to make it make a whole lot of sense. In the origin you can even have her (well, you can do it regardless of gender) go around with Gorim and make people talk to her through him rather than address her directly. It's hilarious.

Now I want to see the Dwarven Noble origin like no one's business. Except I have to finish my current game first, and I have Awakenings (finally) to try out eventually. So many possibilities, so little time.

And just using this icon because I haven't used it in way too long. Dwarven crafts, fine Dwarven crafts. Direct from Orzammar.

♥ Everything's better with Steve. ♥

(Also, I think the new "psst, Rolex?" should be "psst, backpack?")
