This early daylight savings time nonsense can kiss my...

OK. It's just the first week or so that's hard, right? I'm sitting here last night, looking at the clock on my computer. 1:45, not bad for a Saturday night, and suddenly it's 3:30 in the morning. Noooooo! I haven't gotten sleep of any substance at all for a solid week now. Even this weekend -- my weekend mornings are usually entirely sacrosanct if I'm not working -- I've had to be up early, and even though tomorrow is a day off from school, I still have to get up and go to work. You'd think I'd get to bed earlier, right? But no, nighttime is when my creative juices kick in and I do some of my best work.

Of course, it won't help if I'm a total zombie.

I should go on a coffee crawl. But tell me, how are all of you?

The only thing weird time rule I hate more than time zones is DST (time zones never bothered me until I moved back into the central one after college, and I loved DST until a couple years ago when I wasn't so young anymore that sleep didn't really matter.) I actually hate all weird time rules. Don't we do something like add a second every few years, or is it that because we don't add a second, we're a second off "real time" (whatever that is)? I think we should just use sundials again. Or something.

So, how am I? A bit cranky. :P

I hate it too . . . I just am delighting in not having to turn my headlights on to get to work, then we go to savings time and I'm driving in the dark again. Personally, I'd only have it from Memorial Day to Labor Day, if at all.

I never did have coffee. How about that. I did go for a hike, though, so that was probably a little healthier. On vacation next week, I'm hoping to catch up on sleep at least a little.

Once I'm adjusted, I love daylight savings time. I like it being light later and all that excellent stuff. It's just the switch that was harder than the average bear this time.

*soothes away the cranky*

Those seconds-a-year are really... what's the saying? Harshing my mellow? Messing with my head? Whatever. It's almost vacation week and I couldn't be happier unless more people were actually, you know, nicer in real life.

I'd have it one way or the other all year long. *shrug*

My sleep schedule is all messed up compared to the Outside World anyway. Sigh.

On the other hand, semi-scientific sampling says 'Corgi, no more benedryl with the melotonin. Ever. Bad juju.'
