So I'm about to open and assemble this super-special available-only-in-Japan-unless-you're-me Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary Trading Arts Mini figurine. You know, the ones that come with the special 10th-anniversary "potion" (aka "a can of soda made by Suntory and imprinted with beautifully random and very artistic 10th anniversary FFVII images that probably originally sold for a stupid price and now resell for an even more ridiculous price"): I take it out of the box and marvel at its absolute tiny size while it's still pristine and wrapped and double-wrapped in cellophane and the conversation goes this way:

Me: I'm about to destroy any possible resale value by putting this thing together.
Mr. Spike: Good.

(I love him.)

LOL! That's awesome. What's the point of collecting something if you can't enjoy it? ;)

I never saw the point, although I've had a few aaaaah moments opening packages, mostly just because they're so pretty.

(I also love my figurine collection.)

*scandalized gasp* OMG YOU DEBOXED?! :-O

Just kidding - I'm a deboxer, too; at least, I would be if I got anything in a box. I'm sure your figurine looks better put together than NRFB-but-in-pieces!

You have to unbox them! Otherwise they're like the poor collector toys in Toy Story 2 that never get played with...

Did you drink the soda too?

Heh, no, the soda was removed from the can before shipping. It's safer that way (shake shake shake your soda can... boom!) and... man, you never know where that soda can's been!

One of these days I'll take pictures of my figurine collection. Then y'all can see what a huge geek I really am.
