Goodwin's wife with the scary eyebrows told Juliet she looked "just like her." But she didn't say which her.
So that gave me this idea. Remember Annie, Ben's childhood friend? What if she didn't get wiped out when everyone got gassed? What if she went on to stay and grow up and she and Ben fell in love and she got pregnant and died on the island because of her pregnancy? Would that be why Ben is so determined to resolve the whole pregnancy issue on the island? I don't know if I like it or not, but there it is for you.
I could get really crazy and say and what if he knew how to travel in time so he could go back and save her after it's resolved? but that's extreme even for me. They keep saying you can't change the future, but they lie.
Uh... yeah, it wasn't Penny's boat. I hope I'm not the only one completely unsurprised by the revelation that it's her father's boat. And Ben's man on the boat... since everyone seems to believe it's going to be Michael, what if I throw my hat into the ring and say nnnno, that would be too easy? Maybe it's someone else. Someone else whose presence would be shocking enough to make Locke have to sit down before hearing about it. Someone whose presence means enough to Locke to get him to let Ben out of confinement. Would Michael be enough for that? Yes? No? Opinions? What if, you know, it was someone who was supposed to be... uh... dead? Like Chahlie?
But there is no real time travel, they say. It only happens in the mind... but we've already seen Charlie this season, or at least Hurley has.
Twice.
Also, I think this entire show is run by Charles Widmore and he's manipulated every single person he knows so that everything goes according to his plan. Why? How? Dunnooo. It's just another theory, but he's the one who mentioned the boat race to Desmond, and he's the one who told him the McCutcheon story, and he's the one who very curiously last week gave Desmond his daughter's address. How many layers of time are we working with here? And who cares, and why is Desmond the key to it all working out? Or is he? And what is the connection between Mrs. Hawking and the head monk at the monastery and Charles Widmore, who apparently always bought cases of wine?
I don't know. The show kind of makes my brain hurt, but I like it anyway. But I will say this:
Ben, Ben, Ben.
