Someone out there wanted more mommy moments. Well, here you go: I'm babysitting my daughter's Tamagotchi for her. This, as you're probably well aware, is my goal in life: to jump when the little electronic being takes a dump, clean it up, praise it, feed it sushi, and watch it bounce around on the screen.

Now you know how fun it is to be a parent.

On the kitty front, my pet sitter might be interested in adopting mama cat. She's going to meet her and see how things go. Once the kittens are all placed, I need to get her fixed and then she'll be ready.

Maybe today I'll be able to get some pictures of the kittens. They're awfully shy and I think the camera noise might frighten them. But we'll see.

As I said as long as little digi dude didn't digest it's own dodo, you're all good, dude.

Don't know what's worse: Tamagotchis or Furbys.

I brought it to school with me, and Hannah chastised me for letting it gain too much weight.

Huh?

They still have Tamagotchis? I remember mine. Adorable thing, not an official one but some kind of dinosaur. I took care of it for most of junior high and then when a button broke off the reality sank in for me . . .

Awww. What a sad way to learn a life lesson: broken hardware.

I did that for my son when he had one. Aren't we good grandmas?

Ugh, tamagotchis. I was babysitting my little brothers one last year and I swear it got a demon (a little skull creature above it's head floating in the air) so I had to give it an exorcism. Also, they have sex now! but in darkness of course.

HA! It went toxic on you.

It's so sad that I know about that, isn't it? A year or so ago, one of the other moms came up to me at Hannah's school telling me that no matter what she did for her son's Tamagotchi, there was a big X covering the screen: what did it mean?

I was thinking that last time I looked in the mirror, I wasn't wearing a label that said "Tamagotchi Expert," but I suggested that perhaps Tamagotchi-san needed a new battery.

I think I was right. That happened to Hannah's old one. I was hoping we were all done with them but the things keep turning up. She said (after I brought it with me to pick her up today) that she was going to put it on pause for three days. I don't know quite why she picked three days, but that's okay with me.

You mean you weren't? Damn.

I hope the potential new home for mama kitty works out.

Hannah is one lucky kid. I had a Giga pet, and my mom would never watch it for me while I was in school.
