Fluff 'n' stuff.

[waves hello to
jaylake just because, and for no other reason, and certainly no good reason]
Let's see. It's been a very conflicted past 24 hours. On the one hand, I watched more of the CB Remix DVD, and session 5 with commentary just about blew me away, all you 300,000 bounty hunters out there in the solar system! Go get the remix. Support Bandai.
On the other hand, I pretty much decided it's time to close down Dogstar. It's been so slow, and I hate to see it just fade away. I have exit strategies for it and always have, since it was first created, but... whatever. All good things must come to an end? So that realization was extremely depressing. I'm going to miss some of those people if we do close it. But like I said... if the story's no good any more -- or even if it is -- and I'm the only one writing it, why do it there? Feels like the end of an era. Things to work out on that score with
sff_corgi, my original enabler.
And (how many hands do I have? Well, let's see... this LJ plus 7 character journals = 16 hands, so I can keep going) on the other hand, amid the huge potential to fuck everything up with misery, I asked
lostinapapercup to write with me last night and... here, I will fangirl myself! OMFG! I rarely impress myself. But now I'm impressed, with myself and with her, for this thread still in progress. I'm kind of delighted.
On the other hand, my treo 600 finally bit the dust and it was out of warranty, so even though the concept bites, I bit the bullet (lots of biting going on) and anted up for a 650. Now I have to go install software and synch up tonight. But I realized: this is my business expense, because my cell phone is my business phone and almost all the scheduling on that thing is business-related. So they gave me $50 off the price and another $50 for trading in the 600 and voila, I don't feel like a complete loser.
On the other hand, Mitch went out and got himself an iPod Mini. So I don't feel bad about spending the money on something I really needed.
On the other hand, he leaves for India tomorrow for 10 days. Waah.
On the other hand, we got our building permits. So construction and demolition starts here next week. How fun will that be?
On the other hand... how am I going to manage all the cats, Hannah's school, and construction supervision all by myself while someone is off playing in the wilds of Bangalore?
And on the other hand, where is the time for my original fic going?
How many hands is that now? Only nine? My, my.
Random Appreciation Time! Here goes. Random appreciation and cryptic notes:
dopplegl, hugs. Same to
wickedtrue and
frankieb_sq87.
erised1810: feel better! Get those ears checked.
zahdi, play with me more!
shellebelle93, congratulations! You know why.
janeylou, we have stuff to talk about.
sff_corgi, those big grin emoticons made me happier than you know. I thought you were all done.
lostinapapercup... so much admiration.
proudofthefish, you'll make a fine teacher.
mme_publisher, the green crinkle dress? Still a no.
(I'm getting good at whistling idly.)

Your Inner Child Is Surprised |
![]() You see many things through the eyes of a child. Meaning, you're rarely cynical or jaded. You cherish all of the details in life. Easily fascinated, you enjoy experiencing new things. |
