I might just have to watch KOHD this weekend. Anyone want a long-distance movie date with me?

For the curious, my backache, she comes, she goes. I woke up feeling pretty good yesterday. Today, it's hurting again but not as badly as it did on Wednesday. I can deal with pain, but I'm not wild about it. I just wanted to be taken care of, and for those of you who know me you realize that's saying a very big something. But I worked yesterday and I'm working today, and then after school driving Hannah way over to (Big) O City for her art class. I'm kind of astonished that art isn't a regular offering at the middle school level here. It's an elective, but it's only one trimester of art, then one of shop and one of home ec. Well, you know, my husband used to build furniture and houses for a living so we've got shop covered, and I can teach her whatever they would teach her in Home Economics. Especially if I get around to getting a sewing machine. With Halloween coming up, it's an ideal time to start to remember how to sew. Hello, [livejournal.com profile] darknessensues: any tips on a good basic starter machine?

My car is... still awaiting its catalytic converter. I might get it back today, but it might not be till Monday. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm just zipping around in the rented Mazda 6, which isn't a bad car. I used to drive a 323; it was my first car and I loved it. So I'm okay with this one. I wish it wasn't costing me a daily rate, though, but I have to have it. BORING! ENOUGH. I was going to say that for those of you who don't know, Oregon City (O City for short) was the first capitol of Oregon until Salem slid in and took over. It's a beautiful place, about 40 minutes from here, overlooking a gorgeous set of waterfalls on the Willamette River (for those of you from out of town, it's pronounced wil-LAM'-et) where the locals used to spear salmon years ago. Hannah's art class is from 4-5:30 (the advanced drawing and painting class) so there's no point in me going anywhere in that 90 minutes. I'll bring my laptop and sit and write. I'm so thankful for my new laptop battery that likes to last between 4 and 5 hours.

RANDOM. This is your brain. This is your brain on Gemini ascendant.

I just want to appreciate my friends list for being so thoughtful today.

Hannah's so darn cute about school. I'm so proud of her.

I love this song, and the whole CD. Still.

Off to work. Catch you all on the flip side.
