Jun. 15th, 2006 05:43 pmYeah! School year's over! Mom's gonna stay up late and party. [cue evil laughter here] Honestly, I don't know who's more excited: me or Hannah.
When I was in school all those centuries ago, I look back fondly on the summers where I didn't have to do anything specific. So I figure as long as Hannah wants the summer off, that's okay with me. I have to see if there's still room in the Manga & Cartooning class for the first week in August, though. I'm crossing my fingers.
In other news, Klondike is home from the vet, spayed and significantly quieter. She did really well in her surgery and I had an AVID chip put in after all. They told me this morning to keep an eye on her because she really hadn't eaten, and that might've been because she didn't like being at the vet's but still, make sure. When I got her home, the first thing she did was make a beeline for the dry food.
So I gave her a packet of wet food, too. All four of them were happy about that turn of events.
Then it was back to school to pick up Hannah for the last time till September, and we had a little after-party. Fortunately, the two moms who were there are the only two from the school I actually like spending time with. (In reality there are more than two, but it does the story an injustice if I don't tell it that way.) Anyhow, the kids played and had fun and we drank too much soda and ate nachos and pizza and it was all good.
Now we're all home and I get to sleep late tomorrow and damn, does that sound great. I love summer.
