Isn't THAT Special.
May. 3rd, 2006 03:23 pmOK. So. I can't pimp the new Mark Knopfler/Emmy Lou Harris CD, All the Roadrunning, enough. I'm just in love with it. I see Amazon's reviewer still has his (or her) head up his (or her) ass with a mediocre review but I protest: this CD is just beautiful. Dear Reviewer: you don't go to either of these two artists with the expectation of bouncy or widely varied material. *cough*
Clearly, it's guys with Emmy Lou Harris day because I also got Bob Dylan's Desire on CD. It's one of my favorite of his albums.
Big day today. Started out having coffee with
mme_publisher who, by the way, is one of my favorite people. I got the last things I needed for Hannah for her costume for the school play (okay, who out there has ever had to find or make a fox tail? I'll take pictures when I'm done with my project du jour). Plus, I had my eyes examined (no change) and ordered my year's worth of contact lenses... and there's a $100 rebate this time around. OK! I can deal with that! And my music arrived. And a Diana Wynne Jones book I haven't read before.
PLUS IT'S CANON DAY AND THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT. You know who you are. Stop the presses. I won't talk about issue 45 here because, you know, I kind of hate inadvertent spoilers. Of course, the only other person I know in the world who reads this has already done so but we can have our discussion in private.
I'm random, you say? Well, yeah, I have Gemini rising. What do you expect? Man. Internet service went out today for about 15 minutes, but in those 15 minutes I was scrambling. I was the face of DOOM. No comcast no, you're messing with my carefully-planned day! I was a little relieved to learn it wasn't just our house. It had me rethinking my whole "I'm cancelling my backup dial up account." But really? the $99 every six months isn't worth it. I'll lose my website, but meh. Whatever. I never update it any more. Between Photobucket and LJ, I think I'm kind of covered with things I might need. Or I could get into the 21st century and just get a domain of my own.
erised1810, how am I doing on the random factor? I should tell you I woke up this morning covered in cat. Jasmine, Queen of the House, was sleeping very happily ON MY LAP as I lay there. It took me a few minutes before all the blood started running again in my legs. :)
Oh, and for the record, I still think Black Diamond Bay is one of the best story-songs ever. ♥
