It's been a few days. I don't know if I'll be able to catch up on everything you've written, so if there's something you want me to see, point me to it in comments.
Let's see... my cat is doing very well, thanks for everyone who offered up hope or lit candles or did the dance of health. It seems to have worked! She's not quite back to normal, but she's about halfway there. Her appetite's back and her eyes are bright and she's moving around just fine. So that's one thing for which I'm extremely thankful.
Almost completely out of the blue, I got a phone call today from a friend of mine I haven't spoken to in five years. We used to work together back in the old days when I lived in Boston and worked at Lotus (all of you who remember 1-2-3? Raise your hands). It was a really nice surprise. He called because it's the 20th anniversary of the Challenger disaster, and he remembered us talking about it at work that day so strongly. In fact, he thought I was joking at first. But I would never joke about anything like that now, and I didn't joke about it then. My heart was in my throat. Anyway. I hope it won't be another five years before we talk again.
Our house is almost done! In fact, we're hoteling it for a few nights starting tomorrow so they can finish the floors. Then we should be good to unpack. Tomorrow Mitch and I get to do our walkthrough and make our list of things that we need to see fixed before we consider it finished.
(I'm so tired of construction. I won't know what to do with myself when I have the house back again. It's been five months.)
And... I'm also just tired. I'm going to sleep soon, and I'm going to try to sleep late tomorrow. This coming week will be crazy, being displaced. At least we're staying at a place that lets us bring the cats.
That's all for now! Catch you on the flip side of things.
