Thank You...
Jun. 26th, 2005 06:11 pm...everyone who participated in this third writing challenge. Look for another around the 17th of July.
[bows to you all]
And to respond publicly to just one comment: no, I don't make up the themes for the challenge with any specific character in mind. Usually I'm just sitting around minding my own business and an idea pops into my head, and I post it and I have no idea which of the people invading my brain's real estate will decide to respond to the challenge.
Just to reiterate: everybody is welcome to do the challenges. You don't have to roleplay with me, you don't have to roleplay anywhere. You can do one or ten; you can invite your friends; you can use them however you want. In case you don't know me or know my writing, know now that I do these extremely short fic challenges as a challenge to myself as well as to everybody else. It's hard to tell a story in 300 words or less. It's hard to convey a sense of personality and circumstance. Yet month after month, we have beautifully-written short short pieces that do just that. I applaud all of you.
And you know what? If you think of something after the fact -- after the challenge has officially closed -- I'm not going to tell you that it's too late to post it. I know as well as anybody that inspiration strikes when it strikes, and it can't be forced.
So again, thank you all, and we'll see you around for the 4th one in July.
