In between massages...
Sep. 18th, 2004 02:46 pm...an hour-long deep tissue massage at 8:30 on a Saturday morning, you say, after being kept running around till almost midnight with some insane posting on the RP? Yeah, baby! Bring it on.
Last night my 10:00 client called to cancel, but she came in anyway. Glad her car problems were resolved and we didn't end up getting offset by a week. I just realized as she was leaving that my weekends are getting full. That's a good sign, because we have to pay rent. Oh, never take financial advice from a massage therapist, by the way. I care less about money than almost anyone else I've ever met and if I didn't have to cover the cost of supplies and rent and insurance and continuing ed and laundry and marketing and paperwork and all that other stuff, I'd do massages for free. I'd be so happy. As it is, I give all my regular clients at least one free massage per year, either for their birthday or for the holidays. Because without them I wouldn't be in business, really really.
I have to go back in a couple hours and do one more massage. And... just a wee word now about how things go in cycles: y'all who bore with me through the New Hair Stylist Trauma of several months ago know that now I don't care what she does and she doesn't care what I do and we've been coexisting peacefully for months and months now. But there's an all-shop meeting on Monday and I guess other people have been getting irritated and so I get to go and be some sort of moral support.
Hey. I am out of the 'making others feel warm and fuzzy' business. Nuh-uh, not me.
My HP Roleplay Board needs new members. Anyone interested? Please pay us a visit. We have lots of room for all sorts of characters, both original and canon, so stop by and visit. For those of you who don't know, we're a writer's community. We have closed membership (we're by application only) and it's a great place to stretch your wings and explore your character in depth. There's no cost to join and Ezboard has been very good to us. And yes, I know you can't see our classes unless you're a member, but here's why: the information our staff teaches has been so popular, it's been data-mined and stolen for other sites. So if you really want to learn how to become an Animagus or find out the Common Welsh Green's preferred snack-food of choice or isolate Rowan sap in a laboratory setting or (you get the idea)... come join us. You can always ask me any questions you might have about it here, as well.
And if you've never role-played before but are writing HP fanfic and need a place to try things out for your character, we're a good place.
[End shameless plugging]
23 September - Jason Carter's birthday. Just thought you might want to know.
