Took Hannah to see Yu-Gi-Oh, the Movie today along with [livejournal.com profile] deborahlive and her son, and also [livejournal.com profile] cedricsmistress came along for the fun.

Disclaimer: I'm not much of a Yugi fan; it seems arbitrary and far too complex when it comes to the cards, and I don't have much patience for the "we must duel! Right now! Continually!" storylines.

But it had Eric Stuart (James & Brock & many pocket monster voices from Pokemon), so I can't complain all the way. I never paid enough attention to the TV show because to me it's all so much background noise because both the animation and storylines suck but remember I am a self-professed anime snob. But I like Eric Stuart's voice, he's second only to god-king Steve Blum/David Lucas in my very humble and never stated opinion.

So yeah, the movie was one long card duel that kept going on and on and on, and if it weren't for [livejournal.com profile] cedricsmistress and her unbridled giggling every time Pegasus and Seto Kaiba were in a scene together, I'd have had an uncomfortable and expensive nap. The kids, however, loved it. They gasped! They sighed! They cheered. And here's the killjoy mam thinking, put the friggin' cards away and go do your homework, Yugi.

Bring on Spike. Must watch Bebop again. It's by far the very best of the best.
