My busy day travelogue
Jun. 9th, 2004 09:18 pmAside: Hannah seems to have taken a liking to Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I know these shows are too adult for her, but every once in a while... her last day of school is tomorrow.
Today I had the pleasure of having coffee with
deborahlive before heading to the Sprint store to see what the deal was with the battery for my treo; they were supposed to let me know when it arrived and seeing as how it had been nearly two weeks, I thought I'd stop by. It turned out they had a whole new (reconditioned) treo for me as they apparently can't order the batteries separately (huh?). Go figure, but I do believe my warranty starts all over again with each new phone. We'll see if this one has more than 4 minutes of talk time before the battery drains. This is my 4th treo in under a year. Hmm... that doesn't bode well for future models, does it.
Then I made it home for a little bit to check messages and feed the cats, then get to my hair appointment. Yeah, I'm my own happy siocled-brunette self again. Blonde doesn't suit me. I liked it when I had just a few blonde streaks, but... all gone. All gone. All gone. Even Mitch noticed when he got in tonight. It was one of those 'did you do something to your hair?' moments. Grin.
Then... ran back home and folded massage linens, and raced off to pick up Hannah at school, then brought her back here in a big hurry (thank you so much,
cedricsmistress, for being the World's Best Sitter) and went to work. I'm doing evening massages this summer one night a week, hopefully in exchange for most Saturdays. I want my weekends back.
It occurs to me I shouldn't be nearly as sleep-deprived this summer as I have been this past... winter, spring. For one thing,
sff_corgi might be going back to working days, which means I don't have to wait until 11pm for her to get home from work so we can chat (and I am probably her biggest waste of time after the vampire game and Gothador and all that stuff, I readily admit it and accept full responsibility, dear one). And that means I might not be up till 1 every morning, and then start the day all over again at 6:30 or 7 to get Hannah up and ready for the half-hour drive to school. I have absolutely no remorse about the fact that we have no plans for Hannah for the summer, except to have
cedricsmistress here three days a week so I can still work. That means we can all sleep later. I am very much looking forward to that because I am a night owl. I'd be up until 3 or 4 every single morning if I didn't have to wake up early.
Now we're just sitting around; Mitch just got back from the gym and he's gathering laundry for this week's Europe trip. Hannah and I will take him to the airport on Friday so he doesn't have to leave his car there for a week.
[yawn]
