A few bits of randomness

When I was little, I used to think that my grandma Diana could have really been Anastasia. She was the right age and she was Russian. What the hey.
I think my sense of wonderment and adventure -- believing in faeries, wishing on stars -- lasted a lot longer than for most people. Hell, sometimes I still think I can change into a big black dog if I just concentrate hard enough...
We got our holiday tree today. I don't call it a Christmas tree because I don't really celebrate Christmas. I celebrate the solstice, though. Our tree is decorated with three types of ornaments: birds, things from nature, and Harry Potter. We made a Snitch for the top of the tree and it sits up there lording it over everything. I need to go to the Hallmark store and see what they have this year for a Potter ornament.
One of these days, I will make it an all-dog tree. Woof!
I am getting my hair changed this week. The color choices I'm considering are vastly different. Information upon request.
Mitch got himself a treo 650 yesterday. Welcome to the club, dude! Yow! We're such a techno-savvy family...
Must go do a massage. Yes. at 5:00 on a Sunday evening. I want mine too. Alas.

Date: 2004-12-13 05:49 am (UTC)I had an all dog tree a few years back. My father made a bunch of wooden cut-out silhouettes and I painted them. Along with painted dog biscuits and ornaments I collected at the dog shows. It was really cute, I wish I had a picture.
In 2001 I had a all HP and wizard tree.
The Hallmark HP ornament this year is a Harry and tiny Hedwig set. Wal-Mart has a set of 5 HP ornaments; Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid & Quidditch Harry. No Padfoot in sight! grr..
