Found it, finally. I give to you:
The Original Adventures of Spike and Spot
This was from an email discussion with
sff_corgi. I'm not sure it's as good as I recall, but, because I promised it...
sff_corgi: I bring this up in CM, altho' you might want to play it differently. Human cycle - females always sexually available, in the biological sense. Canine cycle - females only sexually available intermittently.
sit_good_dog: Hmm, I do know enough about dogs to know this. :) I am not worried about when canine females are sexually available; we decided we weren't going to go there on the board. They'll kick us off if we do!
sff_corgi: What's a canine Animaga smell like?
sit_good_dog: Like fresh daffodils, of course.
sff_corgi: What are two intact male canines going to respond like around said female?
sit_good_dog: Normal male canines, as opposed to animagi?
I would think they'd be very keyed in to the scent difference. For instance:
Spike: "Look, Spot! A girldog a girldog a girldog! yeah!" (Spike drools, sniffs girl dog)
Spke: "Hey... uh, Spot, would you give me a second opinion on this one? She looks GREAT and all, but there's something really funny about her smell. 'Choo ever meet a girldog smelled like flowers that wasn't just fresh out of the groomer's?" (Spike sniffs girldog again and frowns.)
(Spot sniffs girldog.)
Spot: "Uh, Spike, you're kinda dumb usually, but I think you got something here. Hey, girldog, what's the story?"
(Spot and Spike surround the girldog)
Girldog: "Excuse me, you two... CANINES. What do you think you're doing, sniffing my derriere?"
Spike: "AHHHHH!" (runs away)
Spot: "AHHHHH!" (runs off to join Spike)
Spike: "That was one weird bitch!"
Spot: "I'm with you, dude. Let's find a NORMAL girl who doesn't care how much we sniff her butt!"
(Spike & Spot run off, can't find another girldog, and end up humping each other... or something.)
sit_good_dog: So... why do you ask? Grin.
I think I like the revised version better. First drafts are always so rough. Grin.
