Just 'cause [livejournal.com profile] heidi8 did it and she RULES, I have to do it too.

Taken from her as is:

There's a huge chunk of you out there whose LJs I read every day - but in a lot of cases, I don't know how old a lot of you are, or where you live, or basic, normal things.

This is the problem with LJ - we all think we are so close, and while we know about the day-to-day, there's still a lot we don't know about each other. So let's rectify it.

I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. I promise, I will not make fun of you, or say who asked what; I won't divulge any social security numbers and stuff, but I'll try to answer everything - personal, fandom - whatever.

I then invite you to do the same. Remember, seriously basic stupid questions, don't be embarrassed, you would be really shocked what I don't know about you.

How did you wander into the hp fandom?

And aren't you sweet with the compliments today?

First things first, compliments: take 'em while you can get 'em; I'm not always this magnanimous.

I wandered into the HP fandom courtesy of my daughter. I bought HPSS for her when she was far too young (because everyone said their kids liked it) and started reading it to her at bedtime, but it was way too grown-up for her at the time. She actually disliked it enough to hide the book.

Then, in first grade, she came home from school and went into her room and rummaged around and came back up holding this hardcover book and begging me to READ! READ! And that was all it took; we were both hooked.

The whole fanfic thing comes MUCH later, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] sunny_daylee, who showed me a piece she was working on. I got inspired to write my own and that was that. I started out writing fics about Lucius; imagine that. It didn't take long to get tired of his one dimension, though, and I tackled Sirius (who really was my best love in HP land) and I've been there ever since (with a few exceptions).

But it took [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi to convince me to show my writing to anyone. She convinced me to join the Quill, but Fiction Alley (http://www.fictionalley.org/) was the first place outside my own web space where I archived any of my HP fanfic. Then Padfoot Returns (I can't link to it because it's all broken now but being redone), and finally the Sugar Quill (http://www.sugarquill.net/).

Sit_good_dog=Lady Narcissa=?

I've a strange desire to know peoples real names. I guess it comes from the fact that my screen name was stolen from my characters name and I never want people to think we're anything alike. Raven was in my head long before I joined the internet scene and I used Raven before I was told that it is very Mary Sueish to have your character anyway associated with your screen name. I've always signed most anything I write as Elizabeth because of it. I guess I should change it, but that seems like so much work and I know I confuse who's who when they have several names. You for example. I think I have the right name chain but who knows...thus your real name would be helpful.

As to your questions...Michigan, 37, Married, 2 kids, 3 cats, 2 horses, 2 rabbits, 1 dog, 1 fish and a turtle. *And a partridge in a pair tree.*

[livejournal.com profile] sit_good_dog = Lady Narcissa = sirius_at_heart = [livejournal.com profile] sosirius = Gwynne (a most lovely Welsh name). And yes, that's my picture. And I don't give a rat's arse what people say about screen names; I use my original HP fanfic pen name (Lady Narcissa) just about everywhere, though if I were choosing one now I wouldn't have that one.

And... are those the questions I'm going to ask and you're waging a preemptive strike? I'd better go check your LJ and see if someone's pretending to be me, 'cause I don't remember visiting your journal today. Hmm...
