I am now and will always be...

When anime shows are produced digitally, it makes collecting production art really difficult. Digital production = no cels. No cels = no production art to collect. That's where gengas come in. These are the preproduction sketches. They're typically less expensive than cels because they're pencil sketches on paper, which makes them a lot less durable. Often, they don't even survive the production process.

I was just fortunate enough to get my hands on two genga from Last Exile. Cut to save the friends list.

Range Murata character designs for those who are interested.

Gorgeous. I really do love Murata's work for this series, particularly the clothing.

I'm less of a fan of the facial designs for the kids, but the rest of it is really something.

These are gorgeous and I can't believe I'm this behind in commenting at you.

Especially since apparently collecting Unemployment means I 'make' too much money for food stamps, things get shut off on occasion when I can't quite stretch things enough.
