Word count: According to my sources, a drabble is precisely 100 words. No more, no less.
Main theme: What's love got to do with it?
Ratings: No restrictions.
Duration: Challenge opens now (February 12) and runs for a week. Closes at the end of day Friday, February 19.

A while ago I did an experiment in precise writing with ficlets of exactly 100 words and it was so much fun and I felt so accomplished that I decided to do it again. But I get bored looking at my own stuff, so... here you go. We should all be able to come up with 100 words in a week's time, right?

She checks her phone. He's called five times.

[She checks her phone. There's no reception.]

She doesn't listen to his voicemails.

[No reception means no voicemail. She wants to hear his voice, not the sound of her laughter.]

She doesn't want to see him.

[She searches for a picture of him on her phone, to avoid looking at the bloody walls and that malicious other self...]

She wants to hide from the world. From him.

[She wants to hide from this room. From her.]

And she doesn't want to hear his voice.

[Hearing his voice will keep her from screaming.]

The back-and-forth in this is great, and it doesn't matter if we know the fandom or not. It's a universal feeling (if not a universal happening) you're describing, and it's done really well.
