My world is closed today, due to snow and ice.

I just tried to get to work and was turned back by a very gentlemanly police officer who called me "ma'am" and informed me that he was sorry but my road is closed. That's the best excuse I can think of for not going to work. Fortunately, I was able to contact my client and apologize, but... if I can't get there, I can't get there.

Last night I had a dream where two of my past cats (Hector and Scamp) were back in the house. I was awfully overjoyed, more than a little confused. I like it when my kitties come back to visit in dreams. I just wish it had happened for real.

At any rate, we're expecting more snow so... I might be stranded up here again for another day or two or three. At least we're all together, we have electricity, and did restock the food stuffs over the weekend. *SMRT* For now, it's playtime.

I hope your client will be okay without you, but I'm glad you didn't have to brave the icy roads and go to work! *hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs*

*sends more kitty dreams*

I want to be snowed-in! Really really badly.

It's good that you are prepared.

I've had both Aleister and Stella come to visit me in dreams. I, too, wish they'd come back for real. I miss my kitties. And it's weird (for me!) having a one-cat household.

Me too, darling. Me too.

Oh, I'm sure she'll be okay. I felt badly because she was already on her way, but... so it goes. I even left extra early (I'm only 7 minutes from work, usually) so I'd have plenty of time, but... between tow trucks and cars in ditches and the roads being closed, I didn't get to call her and cancel until about 20 minutes before our appointment time.

Nothing I can do about that. But she's a fellow massage therapist, so hopefully she'll understand.

Any time the number of cats changes, it's a strange thing. I do think there's such a thing as too many pets, but I haven't reached that limit quite yet. It's significantly quieter with six than it was with seven, though.

The thing with a disappearing cat is that you never know. I still expect to look outside and see Hector sitting there, and this little part of me hangs on to the misguided hope that it could actually happen... but it won't. If he could have come back, he would have done so.

Hannah pumped her fist into the air when I told her there was no school. I had to wake her up so she wouldn't sleep all day.

My husband, that crazy man, wanted to go to the gym. I told him he couldn't; the roads are NOT SAFE. We've lived here for 17 years and they've never closed our road before. So you know it had to be perilous.

Smrt = ^.^v yay!! It's a fortunate thing you all did restock and everything... it's nice to be able to relax when things like getting snowed-in happen.

It would've been SMRTER to live where it doesn't snow and ice, but... we take what we can get. Yeah, Oregon's nice, but it's not perfect. But what is?

Florida in general has bugs, bugs, hurricanes and more bugs, never mind the heat/humidity (not all of it's humid).

But you knew that. And at least you can see the hurricanes coming.
