First reaction: there's a huge smile on my face. I didn't know where you were going with this little slice-of-life piece, but it moves like its own little melody! How sweet! And this comment has nothing to do with the fact that I live in the only state in the civilized world where you're not allowed to pump your own gas. But that's a digression: I really like the flow of this piece. It's almost this perfectly contained tiny story. I don't need to know what came before, and I have a pretty good idea what happened after.
