Yo. Ho ho.

First:

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] metaphor!!! another youngster on my friends list. Have a great day, and a wonderful year, and may the community of voices in your head wish you more of the same.

Yesterday I took Hannah to see Corpse Bride with me after school. For the longest time there were just the two of us in the theatre until one other intrepid mom/daughter team joined us. It was so fun and so sweet, and we had such a blast. We ate red licorice and made fun of The Twenty (if you don't know what that is, you're not missing much) and settled down for the film, where she uncovered the big secret about halfway through. Smart kid, my Hannah. I'm very glad I got to see it on the big screen because I am a fan of Tim Burton's animation and his attention to detail. Some of it was almost hold-your-gut laughing funny, but most of it was simply... sweet. I'm loathe to overuse that word, but it really was. And kind of lovely. With great guest voices: Tracey Ullman, Joanna Lumley! How can I not like that.

In other news, it's our anniversary. 14 years. I surely wish this wasn't a travel day for that husband-person; it kind of puts a damper on things. I got us the first season the Larry Sanders show on DVD, and actually gave that to Mitch on Saturday so we could watch it together a little bit. It's such a good show, and one of the reasons I was a staunch supporter of HBO back then. I might just have to wax poetic about the whole cast another time.

By far, the best trailer we saw yesterday was for Goblet of Fire with that one little exception *cough*fireplace floo conversation*cough*... it really does look great. If the pacing of the movie is anything like the pacing of the trailer, it's going to be wonderful.

[livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi, I did get your message last night but by the time we got back from the movies, I figured you were probably off in Ein-land charging things. So I will call you on my way to pick up Hannah, if you're reading this.

I know there's no new animation in this, but there is a lot of information! A lot. I'm so glad I finally had a chance to see it. In other Bebop news, Remix 2 is delayed another week. I should get it right around my birthday, which isn't a bad thing at all. At least it's not delayed 4 months like the PS/2 game.

Yesterday, I craved potato chips all day. Fortunately, I had none in the house. Today, not so much.

As you were. Have a day.
