livii. It's been a tough first year here - there's been so much drama of a family nature, so much travel for all of us, so much settling in and planning: new doctors, new vet, new dentist, new car repair places, new markets, new everything... and getting used to the driving around here has been a big thing. It's not difficult, it's just more complicated and a lot more crowded. In Oregon when something was 35 miles away, you could figure on it taking 35-40 minutes to get there. In California, not so much. An hour at least, then you have to find parking. But I'm getting better at it, getting more comfortable with it.
So yeah, my kid & I drove across to the peninsula and the three of us had coffee and gabbed like old friends (which we are, really, we've known each other online for years, ever since HP days), and that was really nice.
