First things first, hugs, love, and unending congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] hfleming8 and her family on the new arrival. Now I can say it the way I want: HAY J00D! How the hell are ya? We've been here with you through all the cravings and twitchings and Starbucks and grilled cheese and all that good stuff, so I'm glad to finally know you on the outside! Welcome aboard, little one. We're holding your RP spot open for the next thirteen years till you're old enough. ♥ ♥ ♥

And second only because she's away and won't see this for a few more days...

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] shellebelle93!!!

I tell you, my friends list is absolutey littered with Leos! I trust you're having a wonderful, well-deserved rest and your vacation is perfect. I imagine you there by the shore, looking over into those rocky pools the coast is so famous for, having a blast. May your birthday be everything you want and your year full of love and personal growth!

And third, because no one's demanded it, a cat update. I took Tabasco to the surgeon yesterday for the 2-week post-surgery checkup on her hip. He says she's doing beautifully, to keep her penned up for two more weeks, and then give her a larger but still protected space to roam about. I can do that. She's so happy and curious and purring all the time and I feel badly every time I close her in her little boring room, but it's the best thing in the world for her hip. How else do you tell a cat to nap and take it easy and stop running around? I'm glad she's indoor-only because damn, I think I just heard a bobcat scream only way off in the distance. It's one of the strangest sounds, so I've decided that has to be it. (Last night I heard some buffalo mooing or lowing or whatever it is they do. That was pretty nice, drifting in over the night air. I love where I live. I love my wildlife. I just wish I could keep it all so safe and protected for future generations.

This -- being my day off -- is of course filled with chores and tasks and things that must be done. I think I'll do the bulk of my running around tomorrow, but certain things have to be taken care of today. So interesting, I know.

And there's that sound again. So I had to look up bobcat screams and found one here. Man, I think I was right.

*counts kitties* Actually, it's acres and acres away, down by the stream at the valley between the two hills (mountains, if you want to be optimistic) where I live. So I'm not worried. It's just... a hell of a sound. Now I'm all distracted listening to animal sounds on that site, and all my cats are looking at me like... the world is ending! the world is ending! quick, mom, come with us! we'll get away from those awful noises!
