...I'm not an angsty person. I do gripe from time to time here because hey, my journal! CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT! But most of the time, I'm pretty cool. I have an eclectic book and music and movie collection; I try not to get into ruts; someone strange just pulled into my driveway. Let me investigate.

OK. I'm back. Look, real-time journaling! It was a friend of mine dropping by some summer school class information for me. I'm not one of those people who goes out of their way to investigate a thing to death for anyone but myself (and for that I'll wear the title Research Queen) but my friend who was just here is one of those folks whom you mention something to once, and she goes and does it or finds out about it and five minutes later is back with the facts, whether or not you requested help. Thank you, Miss Tami.

Yesterday was the drama club play at Hannah's school. They had two performances: one in the afternoon for the whole school, and one in the evening for family and friends. Since I was helping with makeup, I was at both performances. The play was fun, the kids were great, and it all went very well. The after-party was at Baskin-Robbins and I feel justified in saying a splendid time was had by all. Plus, Hannah's teacher pulled me aside afterwards and told me that Hannah's very much a natural at acting (I knew that), has a great sense of comedic timing, and takes direction very well. That's my girl! She's... wait, did Lynda say "takes direction very well?" Compare that to what I've gotten on every report card ever since she started getting them about how defiant and uncooperative my daughter is. Add both to blender, mix well, and see how it comes out? I'm glad she got the whole NO NO NO thing out of her system young, because tantrums in grownups aren't pretty.

The Kittens Three are doing well. It's almost time to bring them in to the vet for their first checkups. I'll be spending lots of time this week sitting around with them so they get used to me and used to being touched. I also need to get the mom spayed. One of my other cats, Fudge, had an emergency trip to the vet today. She's been feeling poorly (I can tell) for about three days and when I woke up this morning she was drooling and wobbly, so... ran to work, got done, called the vet, ran home, grabbed the cat and [livejournal.com profile] mme_publisher's son, who'd stayed here overnight. Took him home, fled to the vet, got Fudge examined, said no to x-rays and yes to fluids and antibiotics, paid the money, stopped at the store, bought the shit we were out of, and finally got home around 3:30.

Hello, Saturday? Are you still here?

Soon, I have a date to watch Session #0 with [livejournal.com profile] lostinapapercup. She's my Saturday Evening Movie Date. *hugs*

So, I didn't say what I'd planned on when I started writing this entry, but I was alone then and all y'all are here talking at me now, so I'll stop.
