Tell Me Things

There's a meme going around where we divulge Ten Things About Ourselves. I've seen it both as "Ten Things You Ought to Know About Me" and as "Ten Things You Probably Don't Know About Me." I'm thinking okay, guys, if you know me, then you know what I would say in that first meme, and if they're 10 things you don't know, then I probably don't want you to know them and wouldn't say them in public anyhow.

OK. I know I'm a heartless bastard and I have the icons to prove it, but... I want to do a twist on this, because everyone in my house has a cold and my throat hurts and how's that for an excuse? Why don't you guys tell me things I ought to know about myself? It's not a case of ooh, love me, love me because I'm not that pathetic and I'm not that greedy and I have a pretty good sense of self already. I just want to know what you think I ought to know. See, I don't know how I come across to all of you. I only know who I am.

I'm being good and resisting using my Steve icon. [livejournal.com profile] lostinapapercup knows why.

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] little_werecub! That's totally gratuitous, isn't it? I should get her butt over and make a post. Oh, and fair warning, all of you at [livejournal.com profile] dogstar_academy who said [livejournal.com profile] sosirius makes you nervous? Watch out. Yes, I am rubbing my hands together gleefully.

It's not spam unless it's more than 3 random entries a day, right?

I haven't done this in a long time; picking one from my deck now.

Random Zen Card
Suffering
The cause of all suffering is craving. Desire things that you do not have, and suffering will follow. Realize this and peace will be yours. Suffering will disappear and contentment will reign.

These are from the Zen Cards deck by Daniel Levin, apparently from Life Style publishers.

So I pick this card and turn on iTunes, and look at the song. How appropriate is that one? (OK, coincidences aside, I'm going off for a nice cup of tea.)
