It occurs to me...

...that I haven't seen my copy of American Idiot since the day I brought it home. I know where it is: my daughter stole it.

There's something awfully satisfying to me about the transgenerational aspect of the above paragraph. When I was 10 going on 11, I don't think I shared any musical taste with my parents. I'm kind of thrilled that Hannah has such great taste in music. Today when I was driving her home from school, she was avidly reading her strategy guide for Kingdom Hearts II when the new Chili Peppers song, Dani California, came on the radio and she started tapping along.

"Mom. I like this song."

Now I need an Anthony Kiedis icon. No, Corgi, I'm only kidding. I really don't, but if I do I'll make it myself. Especially if it's one where he's only wearing a sock.

(However, the 4.19.06 fleamail is worth a read. I think all my fellow lefty politicos will appreciate it.)
