Yo la tengo.
Jan. 10th, 2006 01:29 pmUnguessed movie quotes from yesterday here:
1. "Sit tight and listen keenly while I play for you another brand-new musical biscuit from the Hilton's empire." - Radio Station DJ, The Harder They Come
4. "You're dead and you're still into party politics?" - Nina (Juliet Stevenson), Truly Madly Deeply
14. "It's like this fellow I knew in El Paso. One day, he just took all his clothes off and jumped in a mess of cactus. I asked him that same question, 'Why?' He said, 'It seemed like a good idea at the time.'" - Vin (Steve McQueen), The Magnificent Seven
15. "A good fight should be like a small play but, played seriously. When the opponent expands, I contract. When he contracts, I expand. And when the opportunity presents itself, I do not hit. It hits all by itself." - Lee (Bruce Lee), Enter the Dragon
17. "I thought it said liberate mae - save me. But it's not mae. It's liberate tutemae - save yourself. And it gets worse." - D.J. (Jason Isaacs), Event Horizon
Lots of guessing around Master Bruce, and
ravensnape looked up #17. I personally think everyone should see #4, especially you Alan Rickman fans out there.
Oh, and I should tell you: I'm moving out. Well. That was phrased for dramatic impact. We're all moving out of our house while the floors are refinished, so I'll hopefully see everyone around and about. The hotel is supposed to have internet service. If it doesn't, I'm moving. Again. Heh. We'll be back in a week. Am I looking forward to being displaced? No. But after 5 months of construction, I'll be ready to walk back in that door in another week or so and have it be so nice and quiet and no strangers wandering around my house and privacy again.
Someone told me yesterday I didn't seem to get fazed easily and wanted to know how I could be so calm. I said: "Don't give me that Art of War crap." No, really. I said, "Whatever happens, happens." No. Wait. Once again. I said: "I might, but don't take it personal." No. Really. I said: "I've bled all of that kind of blood away."
I don't want to waste your time or anything... (see icon if you haven't figured it out yet) Obnoxious little frog. It's a good thing I don't smoke. I think I just know myself. If I wasn't calm, I would never have remodeled the house. Seriously.
Hey. Maybe at the hotel I can get some rest. It will just be me and Hannah most of the time, since The International Man of MysteryTM who lives here some of the time is going to be on 2 different business trips while we're there. We call him that because he's always off somewhere and we never get to go. Actually, my friend Theresa named him that. I kind of like it.
(That's a wrap.)
